So what is worse?

A "puppet government" (your words) that was voted for ..or

A government that no one voted for and has no mandate from a majority of people.

I think the world knows the answer.

PAD should be ashamed of themselves for dragging Thailand so low.

Sure, good to get rid of corrupt politicians.

However PAD (and your) idea of "unrepresentative democracy" is a joke. There is imply no such thing - you are either a democracy (one man one vote) or you are not.

Democracy is simple - one man one vote. Anything other is NOT democracy. Call it what you will but please dont call it democracy.

PAD should be legally forced to remove the word Democracy from their name.

I am not against their ideas but to hide behind the word democracy is making Thailand a laughing stock. Education and wealth are IRRELEVANT when it comes to basic human rights - a vote for your own government.

Instead of MOANING about how uneducated people are why not GIVE them an education and thereby give them equal rights.

Finally to suggest that the red shirt supporters do not love the King is both absurd and insulting to the millions of rural Thais who love their King but at the same time love their freedom too.

I hope you guys address this problems, propose laws that will prevent banned government member enter into newly form group. Even if they changed there name or create a new group.Just proposed laws that banned them for longer term. I believe that if they keep changing group, you guys will be wasting time protesting, and it just a cycle over and over again.

Before one can replace a corrupt government, it is desirable to know what it will be replaced with. Just replacing one corrupt government with another government susceptible to the same corruption will make the revolution all for naught.
To know what kind of government set up would be the best, we first must examine what government is in it's origins. Everyone has the right of self-defense of their property, person, and liberties. Their liberties end where the property, person, or liberties of another begin. When two or more agree to assist each other in self-defense when the time is necessary; that is to use force upon someone else when any party to the initial agreement has their rights violated; this is what we call government. That force is only used to make certain the aggressor discontinues their violation of others rights and makes restitution for damages done(justice). It is a voluntary collective right of self-defense among several parties. Any other use of force/government will inevitably violate the rights of others and be fundamentally immoral. Many years ago the United States was very close to this ideal. However, banking interests and their property violations combined with a lack of justice on the courts when dealing with such matters inevitably lead to a growth of corruption that brings us to this day. Now the United States has itself spread too thin as Americans carry the burden of paying for the world police while also paying for an overburdening government. Simultaneously international bankers and their politicians finance socialist regimes all around the world with the purchasing power they plunder from Americans and Asians through fixing interest rates, 'foreign aid', and 'legally' counterfeited money given as loans that are never expected to be paid back and guaranteed with the taxes of Americans when the inevitable default occurs. These forms of global welfare only bolster up the dictatorships our politicians claim they oppose.

When the very organization we institute to secure our rights begins to violate our rights, then it needs to be altered or abolished with a new institution to replace it built upon these principles. What makes something wrong for one person to do likewise makes the same thing wrong for 50 people to do, or 100 people to do. No majority vote will make it moral to steal property even if it is called "taxes". No majority vote will make it moral to violate someone's liberties by requiring they use a particular currency for their transactions(legal tender laws). No majority vote will make it moral for a person or institution to violate others property while placed in their care through fractional reserve banking(see Exodus 22:7-9). Likewise, what is moral for the individual to use force(i.e. self-defense of one's person, property or liberties), it is likewise moral for that collective organization of force to do these things so long as it only violates the rights of others when it would be moral for the individual to do so. For instance, if someone stole from you, it would be moral for you to use force to defend your property or reclaim it as your own again. If you brought your friends and brothers to help you reclaim it, this would also be moral. If someone attacked you, it would be moral for you to use any force necessary to stop the aggressor from continuing to violate your person. If your friends also assisted in apprehending the aggressor, this would also be moral. Such use of force is justified.

If we wish to have a lasting government that allows for maximum prosperity, unprecedented economic growth, a society with high moral values, and cultural preservation, then force/government ought only do that which is moral for it to do. Anything more and it will be using force immorally.

Public education in the United States is a gross example of this. Currently the high school drop out rate is 32%. Before public education it was less than 1%. Every year the scores go lower and lower even while the government continues to lower the standards. Every year more looted money goes to fund education while it continues to decline in value and efficiency. The truth is for all that money spent we don't have any higher education then before public education existed. In fact, a cross section analysis will likely reveal that every year our public high school goers are being less and less educated then in the past.

Private education, that is education which government has nothing to do with, will produce the most excellent results with very little capital input.

One other role that governments have had since the mosaic law is providing the standard for units of measurement. Defining things such as a meter, kilogram, etc. Likewise, resolving civil disputes arising from someone inaccurately claiming a measurement as something it isn't is also a just purpose of government. Such as if I said I would sell you 5 lbs. of rice for $5, but really it was only 3 lbs. It would be violating your property($5) by not giving you the agreed upon exchange since two dollars were obtained by fraud.

But all government action ought only be defensive and not preemptive. Preemption is not something any individual in society has the right to do so it ought not be government's right to do. For instance, I can't violate my neighbors person by killing him just because there was the possibility he could have killed me. Not that he made any act of aggression, but that I simply believed the possibility was there. Taking action to violate my neighbors life, liberty, or property simply on a belief that he could violate mine is immoral and unjust. Another example would be telling my neighbor he can't own a gun. Or telling him he can't have certain chemicals in his house. Likewise, government taking preemptive measures is also unjust and immoral. To do so it must violate the life, property, or liberties of another. Regulations are such.

Finally, granting people or groups of people immunity from civil or criminal justice via corporations or other state-chartered 'legal entities' is equally a violation of the rights of all people those entities damage. Providing avenues for people to not face the natural or just consequences of their actions will only lead to moral degradation in such a society.

Love Democracy,

I am very sorry to inform you that you seem to have no clear understanding about the true objectives of PAD. Their proposed system of government is nothing like "true democracy" as you refer to over and over in your postings. Just because PAD has the word democracy in their name/title doesn't mean they are going to bring democracy to Thailand. What you are fighting for is a system similar to People's Republic of China aka Communist mainland China. You are fighting to get rid of your freedoms......whooops. Are you scratching your head now??

Thanks Vorapoal for the information. As I look at your site more detail, PAD focus more on demestic issues against Thaxsin Regime of corruption. A true democracy must respect Human Right, Free of Speech, Assembly, Religion, Equality and Foreign policy. When Gen. Chalonun became PM of Thailand before Samak, he announce to the world that he "respect human right' not force to return the political refugee in Pitchabun, but when Samak came to power he Samak act like evil force thousand refugee back to LAOPDR communist regime by force and use dog chase. I want to thanks a million for those Thai leaders and citizen who help shelters many thousand Laotian refugee in the past thirty years. Vorapoan as you support for PAD what is your reaction for my comment? and What Gen. Chalonun stand now, with PAD or who?

I believe that PAD official email address is pad2551@gmail.com. but I never get any response from them anyway

Please check the site on my list for other PAD supporting site, if you know some more, don't forget to let me know.

Thank you again.

This web site does not has your contact information. True Democracy mean we open heart and mind to all who support democracy voice.

Thank to Koon Vorapoap very much.
Please (and Let's) try to target our English websites to any international news reporters, international news agents, foreign embassies in Thailand, overseas universities (southeast asian study faculities). I believe they already have some interest in Thailand but may not have the right source of info. Some Thaksin's scholars are campaigning against PAD.
With your webboards, soon, you will be very busy defending the arguments. For me, I am too lazy and just want to present only important points.
However, our websites would help PAD core activists to explain WHY we have to fight Thaksin regime.

Best wishes.

Congratulations on your nice website.
There have been a lot (really a lot) of Thaksin's campaigns in the media. There are a few websites particularly in English to tell the world what are the actual facts and WHY hundreds of thousands of people join PAD to protest the tyrant proxy government.
Thaksin has hired international advertising companies to show his good sides and probably adversely smear on PAD.
May I just would like to warn you that some of your links to other websites can also be misleading. Wikipedia is full of misleading stuff and a lot of accusations on PAD while not telling the truth about Thaksin and his gang.

I wrote this myself, actually this is supposed to be an interview section for my organization's intranet, but the publisher decided to take it out after put it on for just 5 minutes. (She also removed 40% of text before putting it on).

Thank you for your comments anyway.

This is one of a few well-written articles which summarize the political situation in Thailand in the past, present, and the hopefully this article will help shape Thailand's political future. Thanks for posting this. Who wrote this by the way?
