On November 26, a young woman, dressed in a yellow shirt, was seen walking around the PAD rally site at Suvarnabhumi Airport, distributing a message in English to help clarify the PAD rally.
This is to clarify the situation here in Thailand as I believe the foreign press have formed the conclusion that the PAD has little chance of winning this final battle to topple the Nominee Government of Somchai Wongsawat, the brother-in-law of former PM Thaksin Shinawatra.
Before I say anything else, I’d like to stress here the the PAD’s policy is to use ONLY peaceful means and we have proved our intention by using only reason for the last six months. However, the continuous and nearly daily violence and murderous acts committed against us have come from either the Government, or its representatives, the red-shirted United Frong of Democracy against Dictatorship, which are trying everything in their power to pave the way for the return of Thaksin Shinawatra to become the first President of Thailand.
The aim of the PAD is to rebuild a country based on integrity, honesty, freedom from corruption and fairness from all Thais: all this together with the absolute determination to maintain and honour the Monarchy. We have the most wonderful and exceptional King who has reigned over his people with wisdom and love as the rest of the world is well aware.
Practically the whole of Thailand from all walks of life has converged onto Bangkok to support the PAD. We are not being paid to be here to use violence to get our way. We are not here to support a handful of corrupt politicians serving only one man who wants to divide our country. But we are here by choice, we are here to share an ideal, we are here to realize our goal which is to rebuild our country into a better place for the 60-odd million citizens. It’s actually not a question of “winning or losing” — it’s the reality of achieving what is good and right for our country — Thailand.

As one of your neighbors and the believer of a democracy, I believed Thailand become a mature democratic nation in recent years. Sadly these were faded in past six months as a great nation of Thailand become anarchy. Thaksin did corrupt, he acted as a dictator, these are truth. PPP won the elections that were held after coup and i believe by democratically. It is decided by majority of the nation. What I see now is an urban population want personal revenge on Thaksin. “People Power” is not a solution in this case. There were more than 60% of Americans who hates George W Bush, they just waited for another election. Why can’t PAD wait for another election? There are millions of people around the world want to see splendid nation and now they are frustrated and that will hurt no one but only your beloved country’s economy

What you say here about support for PAD is not true. PAD does NOT have the support of the whole of Thailand. Where I live in Thailand PAD is hated and regarded with disdain.
PPP won the latest election so please let democracy prevail, and call for a new election and then PAD please run in that election. If you gain enough votes to win minister seats then you can have influence in Thai politics.
What you are claiming now is that 10 million of the Thai population (your supporters) should rule the other 57 million Thai citizens that’s not democracy that’s dictatorship.
Your leaders claim to be educated but if they don’t understand democratic principles then they are not well educated after all.
Leave the airports before you have totally ruined the Thai tourism and export industry. During this global financial turmoil your neighbouring countries are more than happy for the disaster that the PAD causes to the Thailand and will happily facilitate tourists and industries that want to shift to a more stable country. Already tour operators in Europe are offering tourists to change their holidays to destinations in China, Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia and the Philippines without having to pay anything extra for the first quarter of the next year. But perhaps this is what you want, to destroy Thailand’s economy for the coming years.
Who or which country finances the PAD terrorist actions against Thailand? This would be very interesting to find out. Is it external forces as in the Mumbai terror attacks?

At least one million Thais employed in the tourism sector could lose their jobs next year due to the damage being done to the industry by the People’s Alliance for Democracy (PAD) supporters through their invasion of the two Bangkok airports.
How is PAD going to answer to these one million people whose jobs are at risk? Is Mister S. Limthongkul going to take out his savings and feed & clothe us?!!! We all know jolly well that he won’t be doing that! He is just power hungry himself. Nothing more. Typical of any politician.

The damage done by the PAD’s actions over the past few days have done incalculable damage to Thailand, and to the many thousands of businesses dependent upon international travel. It is most doubtful that Thailand will be perceived to be a safe destination for tourists in the short-term to medium-term.
The justification for this is that the government of K. Somchai, and the previous government of K. Samak, were being managed from a distance by K. Thaksin, and that the elections that led to the appointment of these three people as Prime minister were flawed, and invalid, because of systematic abuse of democratic process through vote buying.
There is little doubt that Thailand’s democratic processes are flawed. However, Thailand’s economic progress has been clearly observable for several decades, and this economic progress has been in spite of flawed democratic institutions. Despite PAD’s claims that K. Thakisn robbed the country, the country’s economy grew during his tenure as Prime Minister. In other words, it is quite hard to say what the net economic impact of Thaksin’s rule was.
By contrast, it will be straightforward to put a number on the economic damage caused to this great country by the actions of the PAD. Tourists do not have to come here: there are wonderful exotic locations from Hainan Island in China to Malaysia to Sentosa in Singapore, and down to Bali. Airlines will choose KL or Singpaore as their regional hubs, and Vietnam and possibly Yunnan will recognize the opportunity to promote HCMC and Kunming as regional hubs. These items can be measured simply in terms of arrivals at Suvannabhumi in coming years, and numbers of airlines using BKK as the hub. FDI is also directly measurable.
Of course, all of the above indicators will be affected by the global economic crisis. But that just confirms the stupidity and selifshness of the PAD’s actions in occpuying htese two airports.
Let me be blunt: PAD will cost ordinary Thai people their jobs. I do not believe that PAD people have to worry about jobs, or else they would not be sitting around in an airport waving plastic hands and having fun. But the many Thais still with jobs are not happy with the PAD’s actions, and the shortsightedness of the PAD’s many supporters.
Yes, the government is not very good; yes, let’s try to improve things. But mob rule does not help, and cannot provide answers to the development of any country. And finally, the occupation of the airports is not peaceful. It harms many Thais, and a large number of foreigners, and a large number of businesses, both Thai and foreign.
